To everyone in her life, her neighbors, her family, her great-granddaughter’s classmates, she’s “Grandma”. Livina “Grandma” Dawkins has been caring for her family most of her life, first as a mother and now as a great-grandmother. Grandma lives in a two bedroom apartment in Rockaway, Queens with her husband, daughter, grandson and great-granddaughter Isabella. This short documentary currently in post-production is a celebration of Grandma as the matriarch and anchor for her family, recognizing her for the consistency and love she has provided over 50 years while acknowledging the frustration and sheer energy required for this type of work.
